UPDATED: Does not read disc after VIPER GC install?

OK my chip brings me to the normal bios screen, I havent been able to flash it yet because I don't have a parallel cable, but the problem is this. If I have the lid on my Gamecube closed, it just shows a black screen. The disc will never spin. Also, if I turn on the cube with the lid open and close it, the disc is not detected. I hope nothing is wrong with my disc drive.

 

Where did I go wrong? Computer doesn't detect the Viper GC. Also, should there be LED lights on somewhere on the card, cause there arent any.

 

Sorry to post so often but after 2 different chips and 3 weeks of waiting im really anxious to get this solved. Any ideas

 

i understand your problem. i had THE VERY SAME problem.
i tried over and over again to install .
make sure that the points arnt touching other points (this can be tricky).
yes there is a blue light on viper .
all the cable (even the parralel cable)is supplied with it.
i suggest that you just get it sent with a chip to a mod installers shop and save yourself the hassel.

 

Where is a good place to have it installed? Your DVD drive was "dead" too?
