I have recently installed Vista back on one of my Pcs.I put updates on automatic and let it update itself as always.I have windows Vista home premium SP2 loaded.
Everything was going well until i got update error 80070490.
I have downloaded my fixes related to this error of the web but none have worked.
I do know the error is something to do with a BITs file being corrupt.

Has anyone experienced this problem in updating and how did you resolve it.

    Cheers

    1. Restart your computer.

    2. Insert Windows DVD/CD into your disk drive and wait for Setup to start. If it doesn't start automatically, then click on Start, type "D:\setup.exe" in the search box. Replace "D" with the letter of your disk drive. In the Programs list, click Setup.exe.

    3. Click Install Now.

    4. Click Go online to obtain the latest updates for installation (recommended).

    5. If you are asked for it, type the Windows Product key.

    6. In the Which kind of installation do you want? window, click Upgrade.

    7. When the installation is complete, restart your computer, and then run Windows Update.
