updating eurovox max v 2008

Hi everyone,

I have a eurovox max v 2008 with an rs232 connection on the back of it. I am trying to hook it up to my laptop to update the information in the box. However, I only have a lead with an rs232 connection on one end and a 25-pin printer connection on the other.

Although I can link my didgi-box to my laptop with this lead, can I use this lead to transfer information to/from the digi-box/laptop?

You will need a null modem cable DB9F to DB9F.

If your pc does not have a serial port you will need a USB to serial port adapter to use in conjunction with the null modem cable.

Hi Dan, I thought it was auto updating? seen them advertised as a/updating.

 

sorry, perhaps i was a bit unclear about what i was saying. The boxes are self-updating. When the service provider change their codes, the box will update the codes to view these channels. But I am looking to update the actual software that runs the box.
