updating eurovox- should I? And how? Thanks

    Hi, I bought a eurovox max 2008 about 6 months ago and working fine apart from having to update new codes every now and then ( thanks to whoever gets these..lifesaver) but I have one question?
    Should I be "updating" the box.. do i need to reprogramme it etc to ensure it is working properly and I'm getting full use? How do I do this?
    Also any idea how to get liverpool tv. I get about 93 channels at moment..is that about right? Or do i need to update to get more?
