im buying this motherboard http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813188012 and the CPU http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115052 on the motherboard page it says "Support Intel Wolfdale with BIOS update from EVGA.com" but how do i unstall the bios update if i cant use the cpu till i do. I never did this before so any help would be great ty I bought the cpu and MB already I need a way to make it work with what i have i dont have money to buy another cpu and use that then return it. In fact i dont have any money left really.
Well actually, I don't think you will be able to unless you have an extra CPU. If the BIOS has a flashing utility built in, you may be able to load the new BIOS onto a bootable floppy/flash drive and flash the mobo with that. I know my motherboard has it, but I am not sure if EVGA has it.
on evga's web site they have the bios update in ISO so i can put it on a disk boot from the disk and install it will that work can i boot from the disk without having to use my cpu or with the cpu in but it not supporting it it also has info on how to update your bios with a flash drive and floppy disk too
Well you need to format the disk first for it to be bootable. I am not sure about the rest as I have never experienced this problem before. You could just try the CPU in the motherboard - maybe it will work? You never know. Try it without the cpu if you want to... I have never done this stuff before so I cannot help that much more... Sorry.
