    You will need to know if you have a clone or genuine

    Count the vents on top

    18x7 = Clone
    25x7 = Genuine
    13x7 = 1st Generation

    Also looking from the front
    Scart to the left = Clone
    Scart to the right = Genuine

    Also you can go here to see some pics

    All firmware/loader can be found in the link at the end of my post marked Eamos Library.

    I would say its safe to put the FIXED firmware onto it , as I've seen one like this and it did autoroll the codes

    You will need the GTromloader, (Starvi*w Software Uploader), found in the Starvi*w software folder of the link.

    You will need version 2.57_FIXED firmware for CLONES found in "Starvi*w" firmware folder.

    my remote is the one in the middle on http://www.freewebs.com/dooby2oon

    i have compared the boards with my one and my one looks nothing like the cloned ones its more in line with the real one as it looks almost the same it doesnt have any red plastic blobs like the clone one either

    what do you think is real or clone as i have no idea

    thanks for the help

    No problem at all :)

    As said above I would try the 2.57_FIXED first and test to see if it autorolls the codes for you , it be safe to put this on any b0x and it wont blow it up

    When you update it with 2.57_FIXED

    Go to Menu , Press 1570 , Press OK on Nagravision , change the key data in 00 to (e.g. 12 34 56 78 90 12 23 45) Press OK to store

    Exit back to viewing and tune into S*Y Sports and see if it auto updates for you

    Let me know how you get on

    I used the 2.57_FIXED on a b0x described like yours and it autorolled the codes no problem , just make sure you get the NULL MODEM CABLE and not the RS232

    Here's a guide if you need to know how to update it

    Updating Firmware

    Connect your box and PC with a Null modem cable and switch on the cable box and put it on STANDBY.
    (The Starvi*w does not need to be connected to TV to update it with GTROM)

    Open GTROM Loader software make sure that you set the correct COM PORT
    that matches the one that is being used

    Make sure App file only is selected, then click Bin File & browse to the firmware where you downloaded it to on your PC.

    Run the GTROM loader by pressing Download and you will see the % progress increase
    then Download completed message on your PC.
    Wait until you see the DOWNLOAD COMPLETE pop up on your PC before
    removing the NULL MODEM CABLE. The Starvi*w will then reboot

    Disconnect from PC and connect back up to the TV

    If he/she has the same b0x as you and gets the logo "THE B0X" on the screen , yes they flashed it with the wrong firmware

    They can recover the b0x by flashing it again with the 2.57_FIXED firmware :)
