is it possible to upgrade a dell dimension e521 NVIDIA GeForce 6150 LE Integrated Graphics GPU to a Nvidia 7900gt?
ACIDMX, reduce your sig to forum spec of 50k & 500x200 ASAP. what does the motherboard have for slots as in pci, agp or pci-e?
I did not purchase the PC yet so i dont know about the pci-e slots. But you can upgrade the integrated card to the 256MB NVIDIA Geforce 7300LE TurboCache for $50 and then just change that to a 7900gt right? Is it hard to change the psu in a dell? heres the specs: AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 Dual-Core 5000+ Genuine Windows® XP Media Center,CD and Single TV tuner,Remote 1GB Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 533MHz- 2DIMMs 250GB Serial ATA Hard Drive (7200RPM) w/DataBurst Cache 16x DVD+/-RW Drive 256MB NVIDIA Geforce 7300LE TurboCache Sound Blaster® X-Fi™ XtremeMusic
how can you upgrade an intergrated videocard except by assigning more main ram to it? you sig is still too wide, try 350x76. 2. An image-only signature should be less than 50kb in size, and be at most 500 pixels wide and 200 pixels tall.
no u can upgrade it buy choosing a different video card (PCI-e). and when you get it buy a different card and upgrade that one
ACIDMX, NVIDIA GeForce 6150 LE Integrated Graphics GPU comes standard with the Dell dimension E521.Dell does offer optional upgraded video cards but if your going to add 7900gt save the $50. Just order it without updgrading the video options. You can easily upgrade the card yourself with better cards than Dell offers. The E521 does have pci-e slot. Also regarding power supply the E521 has a 305 watt power supply. Dell has rated their power supplies using the mean or average, peak is much higher. The power supply shouldn't be an issue.
I was thinking about buying a dell E521. Is this one of the fastest cards you can get for this system, and can I use it without changing the power supply? I want to get a good video card for it but I noticed on some sites that getting a better video card in some cases requires more power, thus changing out the power supply, which I know nothing about and don't want to atempt. I want to get the most powerful video card for the Dimension E521 that's plug and play.
