okay, i know this is OT... but:

@ dragonz17 -- "Need help making a sig? PM me!"
c'mon! you ripped your sig from a website then added in your name. so... ya know; quite ironic really. ¦¬P

    [bold]@ thecraigc[/bold]

Yea ok for the sake of argument, i did take the image from a website.

[bold]HOWEVER[/bold] I have made loads of changes to it in adobe (not just adding my nik name).

Well bout your image [bold]LOL[/bold] seems to me that someone on a high dosage of magic mushrooms must find a image of a twerp trying to rap worth presenting in forums.

N your comment on top of your Sig [bold]I Hate Idiots
[/bold] To me that's "quite ironic"

will help especially if you are using an onboard videocard which taps into main memory. what anti-virus & anti-spyware program are you using?

First I would recommend 512MB ram for windows xp and if your comp have bugs that will also slow you down.

Heck, at the price RAM is and the oomph it'll give you, go for a 1 gb stick.

Just make sure you're getting the right kind If you need help with that
    http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/category/memory_config.asp

^^Above link is a simple way to determine it if you don't already know. (Also, Tiger, newegg, geeks.com... all good sites for buying comp tech imo. I'm not an advert though, shop where you want to o_O)

PS: I wish I had internet as fast as yours :(

    Alright Tam,

Just read your post here & thought i'd just say, find out what speed your ram is & if its ddr400 pc3200, i've got a spare 256mb stick that i can give you..

Just like moomoo2 says, you should really be looking at
getting at least 1gb ram, if you plan on playing games..
    And i know you do..
I got 2gb corsair twinx xms ddr400 pc3200 matching pair of ram for £125 from ebay..
it even has ultra low latency, 3.3.3.8, & makes my games fly..
the only game i have a problem with is oblivion, but even
the best cards available struggle with that game ;)
i can play half life 2, half life 2 episode 1, prey, fear,
far cry, quake 4, doom 3, company of heroes, titan quest,
all the guild wars series, halo combat evolved, need 4 speed carbon
& a load of other top games on high detail settings..

& thats only a geforce 256mb agp card overclocked to:
    2d & 3d core: 424MHz
    memory clock: 1.04GHz!!!
the best bit is, it only cost me £80 4/5 months ago.

your best bet would be to get a graphics card after xmas as they will go down in price, & also get more ram..
you could also try overclocking that processor!!
my amd athlon 64 3000+ is overclocked from 2.0GHz to 2.22GHz, but i haven't tried taking it any higher as im happy with it for now.

personally, im going to get the core 2 duo e6600, a new motherboard that supports core 2, quad core (for the future) & the new dx10 gpu's
& maybe the new geforce g80 & new ram, in a thermaltake armor case with liquid cooling!!

    hope this helps mate.

Hey dougal79 were did you get a AGP card for $80 that you OC so high, I have been trying to get a 6800 card for a long time now and it is like $100+ on ebay. Right now I have a Geforce FX5500 256MB AGP card that I am going to sell to get a next one. And yeah if the guy will be playing games he should get 1GB ram or if he got the $$$ just get it for the speed.
