Having searched the forum but not getting a convincing answer, I have to start a new thread. I have starview Clone with version 2.59e_E. The version seems different from other clones (2.57). Can I upgrade it to 2.57_API_FIXED for clones without blowing the box? has someone tried it on version 2.59e_E?

Yes you can use 2.57eE fixed, BTW if you use 2.59eE it wont roll the keys for you.

yes, it neither auto-rolls the keys and also the screen freezes after some time. Will these two issues be fixed once I upgrade 2.59eE to 2.57_FIXED?

Yep :) Do a factory reset and turn the box off before flashing and this should resolve the freezing issue, you need to purge the old firmware first.

Purge? Does that mean factory reset and turn off the set.

Finally was able to do it!. Thanks to everyone especially sc0user.

Next problem is I cannot see subtitles. Few channels show subtitle in ENG but choosing does not display the subtitles.

Only few channels are showing subtitles option but none of the channels are actually showing. Film 4 shows on the freeview but on SV. Is there any specific channel which shows subtitles?

Not many channels provide subtitles , You can try press the TTX button on the remote (Bottom Left) and input 888 , this will also give you subtitles on channels e.g. BBC1 , UTV etc
