Hi i'm new here and i hope i'm in the right place.
I have an old computer i want to keep for the kids.
    it now has a 667 intel 3 processor . I have come
across a 797 intel processor and was wondering if
i could exchange it with the 667. I know how to install
it but is there anything else i would have to do other
than putting it in place if it can be done at all.
Any help would be welcome. Thanks, MartJoe

i've successfully upgraded my pIII 700mhz to pIII 1ghz in my parent's compaq with no problems.

you will need a new heatsink, as the old pIII will be insufficient for cooling.
