I have found it very interesting that in most, if not all tech reviews Windows 7 is considered more like an update of Vista as opposed to an OS re-haul like XP was. I guess it is being sold as a new OS for capital gain for MS, but my issue is this...Myself, and I'm sure thousands of others bought a new pc from dell in 2008. (My xp pc died and I was in a pinch to get one ASAP!!!) At the time, Vista was the ONLY OS you could get. I know MS is looking to not only restore consumer confidence w/7, but also make a sizable profit, but shouldn't they at least offer it as an upgrade for Vista users, especially those of use who only had it for such a short period of time. At the VERY least it should be sold at a substantial discount for all current Vista users. This should be a very hot topic, I just haven't seen it discussed as of yet. If anyone has any info please post...THANKS!

Very good point there totally agree with you there mate. However MS being MS they will make a dollar however they can regardless and yes it should be an update to vista to be honest but they will make an upgrade version and sell it sepratley.

On the other hand vista only had problems with old hardware and old software that was based on the old Operating System. These are some of the reasons i found with the new change to vista Windows 7 yes is what XP was to Windows ME.

My biggest issue w/vista is with my new(or it was when I got my pc and vista) video card- ATI Radeon 2600. I ABSOLUTELY can under no circumstance update the driver nor catalyst control center. When I do, I lose CCC and my resolution defaults to 1024x768 and will not go higher. I had it replaced with the theory that it was the card, but after changing the card and re-installing vista 10-15 times, dell and myself have basically given up with EVER updating the driver or CCC. I also had an awful time with a brand new wireless printer. That too I gave up on and just hard-wired it. Don't get me wrong, for the most part Vista's okay with me, I'm just baffled that at the end of the XP era MS had very minimum compatibility issues. WHAT HAPPENED?!
