Hey guys, My 30GB iPod just died. Do you think apple will let me pay the difference and upgrade to the 80GB. I still have 1 year and 8 mounth on my warrenty. If not once I get a new one what would be the best way to upgrade? ~Domreis
if u have proof of purchase return it, get a new one, sell it and then use ur own money on top of that and buy a 80gb if u want, altough how r u gonna fill up 80gb n e ways, i dont think apple will do wat u siad.
@ lethal -- yeah that happened to me. broke my 5g 30gb ipod and and to pay a tenner to replace it with a new (working) 5.5g ipod. overall it is better ('coz of the screen, search and gapless playback etc.) but the back the about it is that you cant mod the theme yet. ¦¬( **edit** typo
Hmm, my 'old' 60gb supports gapless playback + Search, I think they were firmware upgrades rather than technical.. And it also supports themes running the latest software..
@ lethal -- aww. cool. ive heard that people have not found gappless playback on the update. u must be lucky.
what is gapless playback? also... i can fill up 80 GB quick... i have a 200GB HDD on my computer and i have 10 GB left... i have music and movies left and/or right
Gapless playback pretty much is what it says - the ability to play track after track without any pauses in between. If, for example, you had a live audio recording divided into individual tracks, you wouldn't want the break at the end of each song, you would want the music to flow, which is what gapless playback allows you to do. And yeah, I'd need a 200gb portable jukebox to carry all of my 28,000 tunes around. Maybe, one day ;-)
I got a deal worked out with a friend... he is going to buy my old iPod and I am geting the 80GB today!!! Lethal... I liked your old sig better! LOL! ~Domreis
@ lethal -- yoo dude, that possible now! i read about some dude modding his 3g ipod to a 300gb hdd. its on hackaday some where ( would proviide link, but im d/lin' shit just now so my internet is runnin' a bit slow ¦¬D )
I love my new 80GB!! It is already full ;-) The gapeless playback is so nice while I am listening to comedians! ~Domreis
hello to all, I have a couple of questions for you all: which of these washing up liquids is better: (there all made by persil and sound lovely but still,i can't make my mind up!!) Berry With the freshness of the berry fragrance, you will be reminded of those lovely summer moments, whilst leaving your dishes shine. Aloe It smells fantastic, has a wonderful creamy texture and with a hint of soothing aloe fragrance it leaves your dishes sparkling clean too! Fresh If you like the freshness of orange, lemon and grapefruit, you'll love the fragrance and excellent cleaning power of Persil Fresh. Zest This cuts through grease like a hot knife through butter - whilst delivering that distinctive zesty fragrance. But then theres the tesco dish detergent which is nice and easy on the hands. [bold]What others said:[/bold] I have a tight budget to stick to for our weekly shop and washing up liquid is high on my priorities to find a cheap but effective dish detergent. I have tried other well known brands but they have either caused my skin to come out in a rash or the suds just don't last long, so when I was in my local Tesco supermarket the other day, I discovered that they were selling their own brand washing up liquid 2 for 86p as opposed to 58p each. ^^^The Bottle^^^ The bottle is a nice shape, a bit like the Fairy bottles but a lot flatter and has a flip top lid. The bottle contains 500ml. ^^^The Smell^^^ Tesco washing up liquid comes in various 'smells'; the two that I have are Spring and Citrus. The other choices available are, Spring Flowers, Anti-bacterial, Summer and the traditional green one. We are presently using the Spring one and the smell is quite flowery and pleasant. ^^^The Bubbles^^^ I find that you don't need to use a lot of this product to wash up as a little goes a long way and unlike some cheaper brands of washing up liquid, the bubbles last a long time. ^^^How Clean?^^^^ This is potentially a problem that you may find with cheaper products of washing up liquid, however, this is definately not the case here. I find that all pots and pans are left sparkling and glasses aren't smeary when washed, a big plus in my book. We use the same liquid to wash my sons bottles and even they come out clean and sparkly with no residue. ^^^Product Information^^^ Tesco advise that your hands are rinsed and dried thoroughly after use and that if you have damaged or sensitive skin you avoid prolonged contact with the product. ^^^Ingredients^^^ For the ones that might be interested, that probably includes me as I've never known what goes into a bottle of washing up liquid, so here goes.... Anionic Surfactants 15 - 30% Non Ionin Surfactants 5 - 15% Amphoteric Surfactant less than 5% Preservative ^^^Availability^^^ Unfotunately this product is only available in Tesco stores as it is an own brand. ^^^My Opinion^^^ I am more than pleased with the results that this produces and I doubt that I would spend the extra and buy brand named washing up liquid again, give me my Tesco's brand any day! I try to avoid buying brand named products as much as possible. I don't generally believe that the more you pay the better the product, as I think often you pay a premium for the name and not for the product itself. So when I do my weekly shopping, I tend to put mostly shop's own products (Tesco in my case) into the trolley. There is one real exception to this - Heinz Tomato Ketchup. I am ashamed to admit that I am a bit of a ketchup addict and it has to be Heinz as no other ketchup quite lives up to it! One week, when I was doing my weekly shop and as usual trying to spend as little as possible on as much food as possible, I reached the washing up liquid isle. I was just about to put a bottle of my usual Fairy Liquid into the trolley, when the Tesco Ultra Washing Up Liquid bottle caught my eye. At 20p a bottle cheaper than the Fairy version, I took a second look. The bottle stated "cleans as well as the leading brand". Great, I thought, another leading brand to cross off my shopping list and another winner for Tesco, so I popped a bottle in my trolley. I have been using this washing up liquid for a few weeks now and although it does the job, I am not as pleased with it as I would have hoped. Firstly, it may clean well, but you need a fair amount of it in the washing up bowl to do the trick. With Fairy liquid, you only need to put a couple of drops into a bowl and run hot water over it to create a lather of bubbles. You need a fair old squirt of this to create the same amount of lather. Consequently, it does not last anywhere near as long as Fairy Liquid. On many occasions I have bought a new bottle of Fairy because I am down to my last few drops of the stuff, only to find that these few drops go on and on and on. Secondly, I keep picking up the bottle and aiming it into the bowl only to find that the nozzle is blocked up. The liquid left in the nozzle seems to solidify, bunging it up so that no liquid will come out of the bottle. It isn't hard to clear it out with a sharp knife or some other such kitchen utensil, but it is a bit annoying when you are trying to do a quick bit of washing up before dashing out of the house. On the plus side, the smell of this washing up liquid is lovely. I have the 'spring' version and it really does remind you of the smell of freshly cut grass and daffodils (well, it does me anyway!). It also comes in 'citrus' but I can't comment on the smell of this one as I have not tried it. My hands are not complaining either, so Fairy obviously doesn't have the monopoly on the soft hands claim. My 2 year old wants you to know that it makes for great bubble blowing liquid as well. I think it is safe to say that I will be going back to Fairy Liquid on my next shopping trip. Tesco Ultra Washing Up Liquid does what it says on the bottle but on this occasion I would have to agree that "you do get what you pay for".
I am lost... sum that up for us. I don't have time to read al of it. Is that post even relevent? ~Domreis
yeah, no point to the post. its just a big pile of sh*t. its too long... just like many of ireland's posts. hehehe
