Hi, I have a Original Xbox with a executor 2.6 installed. It currently has a 20GB hard drive installed. How easy (or hard) is it to install a 40GB drive I have lying round. The DVD drive on the xbox doesn't read DVDs anymore so I have to run all of my games on it from the hard drive. I don't know anything at all about how they are chipped so I wouldn't have a clue where to start, I got a shop to install this for me.

    Thanks

    Mike

EDIT: Sorry, how do I install EvoX and stuff without access to a DVD drive? Is there a was of copying the files over via my PC and then installing back into xbox.

2.6 doesn't need the drive locked.. but for the life of me I can't remember if you can set up ftp with that chip..

you could do the xboxhdm drive building trick to put a C and E on the new drive first.. just copy them off your existing drive.. xplorer360?.. maybe..

try cleaning the dvd laser.. or twiddling with it.. my original 2001 samsungs are still going strong.
