    Aloha,

I'm new user to the site!! I am looking for help to upgrade my box to make sure i'm getting all the stations and not been cut off. I've no idea what i need or how to go about it, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Whatever box you have, once you have your cable plugged into it you will get all of the channels your provider has.

Sc0use I thought that she thought that by upgrading that she'd get more channels.

Dubchick to do this you will need a null modem cable DB9F to DB9F.

    Null modem info

    http://www.maplin.co.uk/Search.aspx?criteria=L71BT&DOY=2m6

If your pc does not have a serial port you will need a USB to serial port adapter to use in conjunction with the null modem cable.

    USB Adapter info

    http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?Modu...erial Adaptor

These two cable links are only for reference as they can be purchased alot cheaper on fleabay.

All firmware/loader can be found here http://eko.4shared.com/

You will need the GTromloader, (Starview Software Uploader), found in the Starview software folder of the link.

Now select the firmware either ver 4.00 for a genuine Star***w 1 or version 4.50 for 'The Box' or if you have a clone box select version 257 FIXED all of which can be found in the 'firmware' folder.

Also you should download the Starview PDF guide this will give you step by step instructions on how to do everything. This can be found in the Starview Documentation folder in the link.

Oh and OP means Original Poster ;)
