Heres what I got in it right now. I use the computer for gaming and general web browsing. I overclock the processor to 2.4ghz, didn't try anything fancy due to not knowing much. Depends what sort of games you play and how focused you are on performance, as to what you want to upgrade. You may wish to consider 4GB of RAM for certain programs/games, but you will only be able to use 3GB of it if you use a 32-bit OS like Windows XP. The motherboard is suitable for using a more modern and powerful CPU if necessary, and the PSU is plenty powerful enough to take an upgrade or two.
I have windows xp so is 4gb ram worth it or just go with 3, also I have the e2160 processor, what processor is a good upgrade from that for gaming, and internet, thats about all I do with my computer so that would be all I need the processor for. Also I have a question about the video card,it is PCI-E 16 will my mother board support the newer cards that have the 2.0 x16 pci cards? And if it doesn't fully support it what can I expect from the video card. Also what video card out right now is the best bang for the buck, I don't want top of the line, just most power for the best price. thanks Mitch
Get 4, as 3GB will effectively stop you overclocking, and could harm performance. A good upgrade to that CPU would be a Q9550, but you will want to update your motherboard's BIOS before you install one. It is inadvisable to upgrade graphics without getting a newer motherboard. Current best value gaming card is the Radeon HD4890, that may change in early October when new graphics cards are released.
