[Bold]Done more reserch and found that this wil most likly not work, I am going to try for myself and I will keep you updated.[/bold]

The fallowing is a guid on how to upgrade your XOX 360 Hard Drive.

Start off by first removing the HDD unit from the Xbox 360 main console and lay it flat with the connector side facing upwards. You will see 3 screws. The 4th screw is located underneath the silver "Microsoft" sticker -- removing this sticker instantly voids your HDD unit's warranty.

Once you have removed all 4 screws, lift up the plastic cover while being careful that it is latched onto the button-release end of the unit. You'll want to be careful as not to pop the spring loaded button and lose the tiny spring.

Once open, you will see the 2.5" Serial ATA notebook hard drive encased in a metal shell. Lift off the cover of the protective shell by first removing the four black screws holding it down. To proceed further you will need to have a thin knife. The metal casing is attached to the plastic shell by a very strong adhesive, and to remove the actual hard drive from the housing, you must first pry off the plastic shell from the metallic HD casing. Simply insert a thin knife and slowly "saw" away at the adhesive. Shortly after you will be left with the following:

Once this is done, you can simply remove the attached Serial ATA data cable from the HD and slide out the drive.

Now you can add any 2.5" Serial Drive running at 5400RPM or higher to your XBOX 360. Here is a link to a Drive I recomend.

I don't know if it would work or not, but I do know if you could change it you better hope you can create 3 particians on it.. with whatever file system is used on the original.

The upgrade is adding a larger hard drive. I have a real good idea that this will work, I am going to see, there might be a firmware conflict.

In the Xbox 1..., did you need a special firmware to upgrade your drive or just to be modded and install the bigger HD?

It might have a firmware problem, I think Microsoft took out the possibility of buying to some one that its not Microsoft, specially when the HD unit its a unit that you can buy separate from the console..., I think they took out the "competence merchandise buying" to the 360 in firmware terms...

By the way, do you know when is a Mod-Chip expected to come?, but some high-quality Mod-Chip, such as the Evox M8+ or the latest generation chips that came out for the Xbox 1...

i believe this was tried in the begging of the 360, and it failed. but try it out, maybe if there was a way to write everything from the original to the new one, it would work? who knows.....give it a shot and let us know.

    Domreis!!!!

PLEASE STOP ADVISING PEOPLE TO DO THIS!

WARNING: You will have a useless hunk of hardware if you do this.

The 360 will not read anything but the harddrive it comes with. Plugging in a standard harddrive into the 360 will cause hardware failures. Don't you know the effort it takes to get a harddrive reconized in the xbox 1. Its going to be a while untill we get harddrives workin in the 360. Me and many others are working hard to accomplish this, but its still far from complete.

DO NOT TRY THIS. Domreis if you have any respect for the xbox 360 community, you'll stop advising people to do this, and edit your original post down to nothing. People are already getting ripped off purchasing a harddrive for 100 dollars, its bad enough if they break it.
