    Hey everyone, kind of simple question;

    My TV is 1080i, will the Samsung HT-X715T home theatre kit upscale DVD's to 1080i or is it just 1080p? What will my picture quality be like?

    The home theatre kit says that it upscales to 1080p. But doesn't specify whether it is just that etc...

    Thanks in advance.

    ps: In the future I want to be able to play Blu ray discs on my TV, I was thinking of using a HDMI splitter as my TV only has one HDMI port, does this reduce the picture quality?
    or
    Can I plug a Blu ray player into the HTK?
    or
    Would the HTK support Blu ray without any extras?

    The HDMI connection will determine what resolution is sent to the TV (the TV says to the DVD "I can only do 1080i"). That is one of the benefits of an HDMI connection over Component.
    That HTIB does not have HDMI inputs, so other sources will not be able to connect via HDMI.
    I would not recommend splitting the HDMI (I don't know if that is available). I would connect one of the DVD players to a Component input.
    Also the Samsung HTIB will probably not do surround from another source. So the Blu-Ray will not give you the audio experience from the sound track.
