Well it all started when my computer wouldnt start up and kept giving me an amber flickering light which seems to be quite common with dell desktops. My model is a Dell XPS 710. After contacting technical support for 5 days (receiving one reply per day in email) a technician was sent out to replace the motherboard and power supply.

He came the next day after notifying me 30 minutes before hand. It took him 1 hour and 20 minutes to replace the PSU and motherboard. Only to find out in the middle of the process that a pin on the HD was broken off. Idiot. They are sending out a brand new 750GB HD for me to use again but most of my life is on that HD. Every bit of my graphical portfolio, all my websites, legal cases, etc. is all on it. Might sound childish but all my retro and new games aswell as saves for PC, PS1, PS2, PSP and PS3. Stupid idiot that I am didnt make a backup.

Here is what I am saying is broken.

The gold pins are sort of worn out too, some of them were bent severely and had to be pulled back with tweezers. I absolutely need to get this fixed. Im thinking I could somehow get a new interface controller put on it somehow maybe soldering it. Problem is where to get it really.

Tbh I havent got much of a clue about these things so all help given is very appreciated. Im in Dublin, ROI too.
