Due to time constraints on a project i am currently undertaking, any assistance rendered shall be appreciated immensely!!! Im using Adobe Premier 6.5 dv editing tool. I have have shot on a Canon MV550i Mini Dv Camera and cannot seemt to remove the actual hum/buzz of the camera itself which is somewhat distracting from the captured audio. Now ive used the NOTCH/HUM FILTER and set it at 60HZ if it can even be used in realtion to this problem[Would i have to eliminate the frequency the DV Cam Hum is on??], i think thats the voltage for Ireland and the UK, but it doesnt seem to work! How do you eradicate the hum of the DV Camera if you get such a problem at all? Best Regards, Vinnie.
If I were you, I'd be inclined to extract the audio to a wav file and process it through the Noise Reduction DirectX plugin written by SonicFoundry. It takes a 'fingerprint' of the noise in question and attempts to remove that signal from the rest of the audio. It has worked very well for me in the past, so I recommend it highly. Good luck with the project. jnihil.
