The best way to reformat your hard drive is to have a Windows 98 Boot Disk with Ram Drive. You can get it here. Boot Disk http://www.bootdisk.com/ Once you have downloaded the files, copy them to a floopy and boot the computer again with the boot disk in and it should come up to Command Prompt. Type C:\ and then once you hot in there or you can do it from A:\ Basically type "format C:\ \s *\s= keeps your system files so you can boot again with no headache I hope that helps. Keep me posted and Good Luck
thanks for the help me and my cousin tried that b4 but my comp was acting weird I searched the web and found this >>> http://askbobrankin.com/reformat_hard_drive_under_xp.html and that helped it took me like 30 min overall and what would be the best anti-virus on the market now do u know?
I'd recommend kaspersky, nod32 or AVG antivirus although AVG is in my opinion rated amongst the best because it is free stay away from norton and mcafee
Ok thanks a lot i heard about AVG but not the other 2 I had NORTON like 2 yrs ago and that didn't help a lot.. and can u have multiple anti-viruses on your PC? will it slow down my system or anything
EUROCHIK No you can [bold]not[/bold] have multiple anti-virus agents on your machine. That can lead to false positives. mub6 I agree that AVG is a fantastic anti-virus, however, come Jan. 15 there not be any more updates to the free version. Another good anti-virus that has a free version for home users is Avast. You can find it at http://www.avast.com you will see a free download. Give them the proper e-mail because they will send you a registration that is good for a year. After that you may register again.
Thanks ddp! According to the information I received I thought they were doing away with the free version. I'm glad to get that information because I prefer AVG over Avast.
