    Happy New Year Everybody!
I'm having problems with installing NERO 7 Ultra. I purchased a full copy today at Best Buy but every time I type in the serial # it tells me its invalid?!!!
I previously installed a TRIAL version of Nero 7 and found a 'keygen' on the internet which extended the trial until Jan1,2006...so I bought the full version. Now when I go to install I see the old Keygen in the Serial # field and when I replace it with my purchased Serial its telling me the serial# I installed is invalid?!! ANY IDEAS TO HELP ME PLEEASE?!

Where is the new installation program getting the OLD serial # from? I deleted the previous Nero 7 program and Keygen files!
Should I be looking for some Nero 7 'hidden' file in my Windows directory and delete that?
    Please help me guys/girls
    Thanks in advance,
    -Peter

I had similar problem. In the end I went into regedit and deleted anything at all to do with Nero and then I installed Nero 7 Premium that I had purchased. Worked fine then.

Thanks for the suggestion Loodymae... I tried it regedit, then I did a one by one search for ALL Nero files.
Then I tried RUN>SEARCH>All Files for Nero!!!
The damn install program still FINDS THE OLD KEYGEN ID AND INSERTS IT IN THE SERIAL # KEY. When I type my purchased Serial # it tells me ITS INVALID!!!!
    ANYBODY PLEASE HELP?!!

<<smiles>> --- when you clean up the registry --- delete all [bold]Nero[/bold] entries and [bold]Ahead[/bold] -- You probably still have a few [bold]Ahead[/bold] entries in there !

    Good Luck

I had the same problem. Had to go to the regedit:
    Go to: Ahead
    Under "Ahead" go to: Installation.
    Under "Installation" go to: Families.
Under "Families" go to: Nero 7 Folder.
Under "Nero 7 Folder" go to: Info.

That's where you should find your trial #. Delete that #.
Then go back and try to install the program. It should give you another trial #. Install the program then change from the trial # to the unlocking #.
Had a friend that purchased the program at a store. I believe he had to call "Ahead" to get a new #.

    What a pain, huh?

Let us know how it goes.

    The Registry.
Good suggestions - but hard to clean Nero eh? LoL.
NERO has a registry tool, to clean up old crap before install; suggest you d/l it and run it.
Uninstall all Nero from Add/remove programs; reboot.
    Run Nero reg tool. Reboot.
    Try new install, with s/n.
If you bought it and doesn't work, you been ripped off!
Contact Nero tech support (don't mention anything about KeyGens) and WTF?
They are smart (they'll figure it out) but deny anything/everything - you bought 7 and it works not, that's all you know...
    Regards

OK, THIS IS THE ULTIMATE STEP-BY-STEP NERO7 OLD Keygen Serial # removal process:
    1) From desktop click on START, then click on RUN
    2) Then type: regedit
    3) Then click EDIT (Across top menu bar)
    4) Then click FIND
    5) Then in the search field type the following file name EXACTLY:
    6) Serial7_
    7) VOILA! It will locate the EXACT location of the OLD serial #! Simply DELETE it and run the installation CD again.
THANKS TO EVERYBODY WHO HELPED ME SOLVE THIS PROBLEM!!!
    PASS IT ON!!!
