I guess you are saying that it doesn't receive packets.
I don't understand what the reference to window explorer is.
    Do you mean Internet Explorer?

What type of modem and Internet connection are you using?
What are the different network adapters listed?

No matter what network adapter you choose it does not show any packets received on the status bar at the bottom?

It may be that WinPcap is not compatible with you system and type of Internet connection, modem, etc.

Something you could check. On Windows versions that have administrator accounts, XP, 2000, NT, WinPcap should be installed under an administrator account and should be run under an administrator account the first time each time the computer is booted.

    Also.

The URL you gave is a RAM redirector.
Recording programs don't recognize it as such because it ends with .rm
Change the .rm at the end to .ram
Then most recorder programs will recognize it and download the stream.

Hello Veblin and thank you for your prompt reply.

My reference in my first message on window explorer was infact window internet explorer. I read the help file that comes with URLSnooper2, and I thought what I need to do was to check which network adapter will show me the received packets on status bar by using the internet explorer when URLSnooper2 is sniffing the network.

I tried the 4 available but no of them gives me any responds on the sniff network tab.
I am using a broadband connection and using a modem and a router.

It might help if I show you the list of the 4 available network adapters.

    Generic NdisWan adapter
D-link AirPlus DWL-G520 wireless PCI Adapter(rev.B)(Mircosoft’s packet scheduler)
    NET OP/1394 Miniport
VIA Rhine II Fast Ethernet Adapter )(Mircosoft’s packet scheduler)

ANy ideas? please let me know. Thanks Veblin

    yours,
    Ed

Are you connected via the Ethernet or the wireless adapter.
If it is wireless that could be a problem

Try all the things in this WinPcap FAQ.

You might also post you question at the Project URL Snooper Forum.

The author has added the ability to use a different packet sniffer engine than WinPcap. It just has not been implemented. If you ask about that, the author may have you test another sniffer engine to see if it will work. There just has not been enough demand for that and in most cases the alternate sniffer engine didn't work in situations where WinPcap didn't work. Maybe your case would be the exception.

Thank you once again for your prompt reply Veblin.
I am in fact connected to the internet via the wireless adapter. I guess I should try to connect to the internet using my Ethernet connection and see if it will make any differences, but I don’t understand how it will? I shell get back to you on that once I tried it out.
    Thanks.

Hello Veblin, I’ve tried using the land Ethernet connection and URLSnooper2 seems to be working fine. So I guess you were right about the wireless connection being the course of the problem. I suppose I should post on the URLSnooper forum and see what they say. Thank a lot Veblin.
    Yours,
    Ed
