US PS3 games UK PS3 console

    Does anyone know if I can play US PS3 games (i.e. games purchased in the US) on a UK PS3 console (i.e. console purchased in the UK)? If anyone know this answer or have tried this please let me know. I'm thinking of purchasing games from the US as it is cheaper and released earlier ala Madden 08.
