Only realised they existed about 2 weeks ago, lol.
    Anyone tried them yet?
Any thoughts or other sentiments you could provide me with?
Obviously, since they plug directly into the USB port of the computer, without the need for a power supply, they would not emit a high power output. However, I am not after full-on massive speakers and subs for my pc, but rather just a small, compact, high quality sounding pair of speakers without excess cable clutter. Something modest and small but with a reasonable sound quality output and clarity. Self-powered makes them even more appealing for me to get them - less cable clutter and power consumption. Any good brands/models recommended?
BTW, i am using a laptop PC.
    Appreciate any replies, Cheers.

Well, I have seen and heard a few sets of USB speakers and can't say they are any good.
I DJ and download my music. I need good speakers so i can tell what a file will sound like when played over a 2500w PA system!!!
I use a dolby digital home cinema amp fed by a audiophile 2496 soundcard and if you doenload the same track from 2 places you can instantly tell which one will sound better on my dj system.
With usb speakers or even most sets of mains powered PC speakers the diffreence between a 128k mp3 and a 320k mp3 seems small, but wait till you burn the 128k mp3 on a cd and play it out then tell me it sounds good!!!

This is just me though and I need my sound to be accurate and clear, if you are just looking for a portable solution to improve on your laptop built in speakers then they are probably ideal! just don't expect quality. you'd be better off with headphones.
the ones you get with the little flat silver cones seem to be the best type considering theier size.
