When i try to sync my ipod with itunes it connects and seems to be working fine but the battery charging indicator is just full with the lightning bolt next to it. within an hour a fully charged brand new battery dies, after being charged in the car, or the wall adapter where it behaves normally.

It proabably has something to do with your USB Wire or your computer.

Is your USB port 2.0? The previous version of USB [I don't know what number that is] doesn't support charging to my extent of knowledge.

I is only usb 1.1 however i previously used it to sync and charge the iPod with no problems. It started after the iPod froze one day and I then reset it and would not work properly then i needed to charge it from the car charger. I can get the songs to go on now but only about 500 at a time, managable but a pain in the ass. Thanks for the replies.
