USB Drive Recognized as IDE

    I was wondering if its possible for an external USB HDD to be recognized as an IDE drive. The reason is I want to prep drives using a HDD enclosure and Linux, but it only recognizes the IDE Drives.

    i'm using win98se with an external usb harddrive & it does not show up in disk drives section in device manager
