i did al the installations with usbextreme_wininst, its easy to use and you can also delete or rename the files.
i think the games are still showing up in the USBextreme menu because you onley deleted the game but the .CFG file still has information of it. you can open the file ul.cfg with notepad and remove the line from the game you just deleted, but be careful and backup the file first before you change anything, and i`m not really sure if it will work i never done it.
and Xafier also got a program to install games and another to sort the game list in alphabetical order.

Ahh i see. I think im gonna dl the wininstall since iv been installin mine with commands in DOS. Do i need to make multiple partitions or do i just put movies, mp3, and games all in the same place?

i think you best can use just one partition , and i onley used usbextreme with games so i dont got anny experience with mp3`s or movies.

    EDIT: this looks interesting, http://www.broadq.com/

Yea i figured it out. Just have to change ur HDD partition form FAT32 to FAT for the AR max to recognize media files in ur HDD. But i still cant figure out how to boot games from HDD+ enable codes.

Here is a list for you guys to use too, but i wont be adding the dates when i add them so you will have to surf through.
These game work on my hdd and another slim ps2 ( but mines not a slim) just so we all can sleep at night and make our choices easier on which games to get.

Xafier's site is good too go have a look.

I think it comes down to how you set up your hdd and what version you have as a ps2 weather usb extreme is right for you, it is up to you. i like it but it would be better if they put out a new version of usbextreme.
ps. sorry it took a while to write back i been on holidays.

    Hay nkhan,
How are you putting the games on the hdd, you should use UsB Extreme game installer. google that. Is your hdd formated in Fat or NTFS, i have found NTFS better for me anyway. What games have you tryed? There are answers to some of this back further. See how you go..

Hi, Have you followed this to the letter. www.ps2nfo.com/usbfaq.html
So your cpu see's a new hdd when you formatted and gives it a letter ( like D: drive) try to set a partision of 5gig when formating. First thing read the site and see if you did everything correctly i did and no probs.
Second thing try use the usb game installer windows version ( dos is not any better). What we realy need is for usb extreme to come out with a new version.
    See how you go.

that's strange i have a maxtor 120Gb harddisk and it runs just fine.
    i'm using usb extreme.

If it can't find the file it's probable not even written to the hd or incomplete.

Maybe you made a mistake in formatting the hdd in windows. I think its suppost to be formatted in fat32. If you have the instruction that came with the usb estreme then it should have a walk through that shows you how with windows xp. Dont use dvd decrypter or iso's... it just makes things even more complicated since you cant even get the games to install yet. Just try to reformatt the hdd to fat32 in the control panel in win xp with only one partition and try again. And also did you download the special file from the usbextreme website that makes installation possible?

Yeah ive tried the DOS version & the wininst (unless theres another file i dont know about) but no joy with either. after i formatted with windows i reformatted with the usb software to change to FAT32 then tried installing the games using the usb software.

my problem seems to be the "missing" ul.cfg file does anyone know how this is created on hdd (i.e. which program creates it) & if theres anyway of finding it/ its just with the wininst prog it says (as soon as i select my hdd) that it cannot open the ul.cfg file & also any ideas what causes this. hdd? hdd external case (although i dont think it is this as i have tried putting hdd back in pc & loading it there but still same prob)

I am also having the same problem with usb extreme. Only cd-format ps2 games work. But the dvd-format gives me a read error all the time. Is there any way fix this?
