both are the same but prefer ps2 to leave the usb ports available for usb devices.

Oh from other threads ive heard the usb slows down fps a little in games than the sp/2 and that the usb takes more cpu usage. is that true?

Both are about the same in speed, but the ps/2 have their own dedicated ports to plug-in, the USB are shared ports.

To be safe you can always get the USB mouse/keyboard and just put ps/2 adapters on them. Recently I bought a USB keyboard by mistake, I was able to use a ps/2 adapter on it and it works great no slowdown.

I thought usb would slow down fps would it? Or is it only for the old computers where it slows it down?

USB doesn't slow down any PCs. It just doesn't.

only the data transfer goes slow if you have usb1 instead of usb2 versions.

Ok then it does slow it down if it was an old pc but with newer fast ones it doesn't. And ddp what are you talking about? And wth is usb 1 and usb 2 versions? I'm talking about mouse not harddrives or anything. And if data transfer was slower from keybouard and mouse then it would slow it down so ur wrong ddp it doesn't slow down data transfer since sam said nothing slows down.

DDP means data transfer, not actual PC performance. The speed at which you can send data down USB1 is lower than USB2, but since a mouse sends very little data anyway it doesn't matter.

USB 1 is the older method. USB 2 is the modern one. USB 3 may turn up in a year or two offering faster speeds still.

You have USB2, we all do. USB3 won't be out for some time, so don't worry about it.
