Ok so i have a usb port manual switch with 2 outputs for 2 devises, one being my samsung surround sound divx player with a usb port and my desktop. I got the switch to share a 1tb hard drive. Now the switch works perfect with my desktop but when it comes for my divx player to read it doesnt. Yet when i plug my hard drive into my divx player directly (not through the switch), it works perfect... thanks in advance for the help

If you move the DivX player onto the port where the pc is and move the PC onto the port where the DivX Player is, do the problem symptoms change.

    I don't know why this wouldn't work.
I would think the media player would appear as a PC to the HDD and respond.
I assume that the HDD and the player have their own power supply and are not trying to draw through the switch.

The 'Videohelp' site may have some better insight.
