   I have a problem, my computer wont recognise anything that is plugged into the usb ports. It makes the sound as though it is recognised but the device is not there. I have tried all my devices (camera, mp3 etc) and a friends and the computer does not find them.
   
   Can anyone help?

   any exclamation marks in device manager? have you tried all the usb ports?
