usb to null modem cable on vista ??can it work

    i have a 9 pin female connector on my laptop. i was looking to flash my box but i have seen (thanks to hitecks post ) that i need a usb connection to connect the null cable to the laptop. is there no usb connection that works with vista ?? was going to go out and buy one today but is it a waste of money ?? has anyone got it working with vista ?? really need to flash my box

    I think some people might have, but it is easier with XP. Do you have any friend with XP on their pc that would let you do it there? It should only take you half an hour to do everything.
