USB Video Converter Samsung 6000LED

Hi, So im wondering what would be a good program to use to convert the HD video from my T1i Rebel to a file the Tv would recognize and be able to play through the usb input.

What video format does the camera output?
Most likely Staxrip or RipBot264 will do the conversion using H.264
