So, my wireless adapter will be plugged in to one of my usb ports and it will find no wireless networks (when there are like 3 strong ones) and I will refresh network list and wait...nothing. Then if I unplug it and plug it back in a couple of times, it usually, eventually works. I just don't understand why it won't just work the first time I plug it in? Has anybody else ever seen this issue or know how to fix it? Oh, yea, and I also updated the driver for it today, that didn't help.

    hi,
ive had this sort of issue with wireless dongles before especially belkin ones and on vista,
firstly what os are you using?
second what model is the dongle?
third is windows enabled as the default wireless network manager? sometimes the software installed with the dongle hijacks it and causes a conflict.

Try disabling the network device, then re-enabling the network device. That works for me.
