Use FixVTS with DVDFab5?

When I first started using DVDFab the manual said to always run FIX VTS before moving on to Shrink. Does this still apply to the more updated version of DVDFab5?
I have checked the user guide but cannot find any reference to FIXVTS.

I still use fixvts after ripping with dvdfab. Sometimes dvdfab does not give a clean rip, hence using fixvts to 'clean' or 'tweak' the rip just a bit, making it easier for dvd shrink to compress the files.

I agree with rtm completely. For no more effort or time than it takes to run fixvts, it is more than worth it to me to help prevent any potential problems.

    Both have spoken true.

DvdFab doesn't always produce the cleanest rips. Incorporating FixVts into your normal process can only help, and it's fairly quick to.

Or use vobblanker. More difficult to use, but it is more versitile than fixvts (and updated, while fixvts is not any longer)

it is NOT that DVDFab HD Decrypter doesn't rip correctly and therefore you need FixVTS...... but it's the DVD itself that needs correcting after ripping! as stated by AlKohol:
    found here:

or you can simply use AnyDVD + CloneDVD and you won't have to use Voblanker or FixVTS! or other programs that do everything in one!

I agree and like to add that Anydvd in ripper mode will produce cleaner rips in that fixvts is not needed.

I knew that AnyDVD USED TO USE FIXVTS..... But after reading the changelog I stand corrected. As of last year they stopped it:

    6.1.4.3 2007 05 08
    - New (DVD): AnyDVD ripper rewritten from scratch. It is no
longer based on FixVTS code. If you want more control
(stream selection, main movie only selection, ...) we
    recommend CloneDVD2 available at http://www.slysoft.com

I guess that they stopped using FixVTS because it's not updated anymore.
