Used DVDFab to put a DVD on my HD. How do I burn that to a DVD+R DL?

    Sorry if this is the wrong place to post.

    I ripped a DVD to my hard drive using DVDFab Decrypter so it is on my hard drive as a bunch of files. I usually use DVD Shrink to then burn these files do a DVD+R, but I have never burned to a dual layer before. I was told the best way is to rip the disk as an .iso, but if the files are already on my hard drive, how can I turn them into an .iso to burn?

    Basically, I ripped a dual layer dvd using DVDFab, how do I now burn that to a dual layer DVD?

    Thanks for any help.

    all you got to do is change your target size for dvd shrink. open shrink go to edit/preferences and change the target size to dvd-9(8.5gb) and just open the files and then back up . hopes this helps

    Since we're using names like DVDFab Decrypter and Shrink, we're talking doing the job on the cheap, as in free. The Nero trial is free, so gamename supplied another possibility. I'm not sure if DVDFab Decrypter leaves the layer break or not. When Shrink processes the files, it can either keep or remove the layer break. DVD Decrypter (free) has the option to use automatic settings to create the optimal layer break or the user can choose the Custom setting. As was mentioned, you can process the files on the HD in Shrink (which has the option to create an ISO and burn with Decrypter). If you have Nero questions, I suggest posting those in the Nero section.

    Ok, I see where shrink will let me backup as the .iso... Do I want Shrink to remove the layer break or not?

    So, basically, this would be best:

    Have Shrink remove the layer break and backup as an .iso...Then use DVD Decrypter to create the optimal layer break and use it to burn to the DVD+R DL.

    Correct?

    @s7e

    That's exactly how I do them except I use AnyDVD. Make sure your burner, if possible, booktypes +R DL to DVD-ROM.

    So should I have shrink remove the layer break or not? What is the difference?

    Remove the layer break in Shrink and decrypter will chose optimum place to put it.

    I used shrink (removed break) to make an iso file and decryter to burn it... however the break freezes up on the disk when played. I have to then rewind it, and it plays perfectly through the break.

    What did I do wrong?
