I've noticed that u can use a ps2 controller on the ps3 if u have an ps2 controller to usb adapter. My question is this. How do the R2 and L2 buttons work since they are trigger buttons on ps3 and how does the sixaxis work? and also can u use the ps2 controller on the ps3 for all ps3 games?
L2 and R2 buttons will work the same, there pressure sensitive like the ps3 pad. sixaxis wont work, and it should work with all ps3 games that do not require the sixaxis motion sensor as the main control method.
Actually I've just read somewhere that these adaptors dont work with ps3 games, only ps2 games. So it wont work with my 40 gb model. Is this correct?
im not sure about all ps2 control adapters but i know this one will work with all ps3 games. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Logic3-PlayStation-Controller-Adapter-PS3/dp/B000NNOAEG
i think the main thing you have to look for in an adapter is tht it has the ps3 button on it like the ps3 controllers have.
Thats kind of a bad thing considering most games these days use the select button and the start button for fairly important tasks.
So I could've saved myself $30 or so by just buying a PS2 adapter? God, I do NOT know how to spend money. (Though I suppose the convenience of wireless controllers does make the DS3 purchase pretty handy.) That said, does the rumble feature still work? For the games that do support the rumble feature, I mean.
you could use a wireless ps2 pad, and no the rumble doesn't work. apart from the pelican pad converter these adapter are known to lag when playing anyway so your better off with the sixaxis.
