Hi, i was wondering , can u connect a laptop to a tv (crt)in general to serve as the monitor for the laptop. see i have two laptops but the screen is broken on one and it would be just as better if i just bought a computer instead of reparing it. in fact it is an older version, dont remember what though its been locked away for years. i was thinking if i could substitute the tv in my room for its monitor, i could use it to store all my movies and music. I really want to know if this can be done. if so i would appreciate the info received.

Well, depending on the connections of both your Laptop and TV, you could use some type of connector to hook them up. Try going for something like Composite (I don't know if that's the name, Component or RCA), S-Video, or any other form of multiple or one use transfer. What would work great for that would be to use a projector.

I only mentioned the projector as another way to solve the problem, but not really useful if he doesn't already have one. Did you connect to your TV as a second desktop monitor? If so, you would need to drag the program over to the other screen (the TV) and play it there.
