Hi. I am using Adobe Premier Pro 2 and the AVI that I had imported has audio when I played it using Windows Player but it has no audio when imported to Pro 2. I noticed too that there is no "audio" track under the video track. How would this happen? And since, I think, it has no audio track when exported it only creates an m2v file and i was not able to upload to Ipod since iTunes does not recognize it. Thanks.
prem pro 2 is aimed at semi and pro video/film makers who take thier own video/audio footage, if your avi file is say downloaded from a bittorrent site it is very possable that prem pro 2 does not have support for the audio. you will find it does not offer support for a lot of compressed video codecs as well. hope this helps.
open up the video file in WMP and look at the properties of it. that should tell you what codec the audio is in. like said above, premiere pro is a high end full blown editing system...not really meant to handle most of the compressed file formats. It us mainly for DV and uncompressed audio/video, though it does support a few codecs such as mp3, mpeg, DV, and a few others.
