I am using a Pioneer DVR-320 to record my old tapes to dvd. The idea is so I can edit them, but my computer can only read the files when they are finalized in dvd-video mode. I can't edit them so can someone please tell me:
How to get them on to the computer in a editable form.

Use a DVD authoring program, I like DVD Lab Pro. Any of these programs should allow you to edit your movie.
