Okay I have learned many things just by reading the threads on this site. I have learned how to rip dvd's and and turned to this site everytime I have trouble. I have never had the need to post as I have always found the answers to my questions by reading the threads but I have been banging my head against the wall ALL DAY trying to create a DVD with my cruise videos. I have a Hitachi 240X DVD Cam, and have used DVD-R's to record my video's with it. Now I want to edit and create a DVD in Roxio, and I cannot. Is it at all possible that in my DVD/CD-RW Drive that I cannot use DVD-R's(Properties state that the hardware is HP DVD Writer 300c and the device type is a DVD/CD-ROM drive) ....if so what the heck do I do with all these videos I have recorded in DVD-R format? I have tried everything I can think of, I even tried shrinking the disc's, and I can't, I cannot copy them into a file as they will not work. I am at a total loss. Everyone here seems very smart and helpful, I would appreciate any advise. Thank you in advance for any suggestions
hi im abit lost with your questions? you have dvd-r and made these? but you cant make dvd-r? you have lots of dvd-r's and want to make some more? could you give more info on hardware used! what apps used? and what you need to get to from these dvd-r's you made or not? and we can see what we can do for you! oh welcome to AD! thx...
Okay, I have a DVD CAM, in it I used a DVD-R mini disc to record my home videos. My HP Computer hardware says it is a HP DVD Writer 300c and the device type is a DVD/CD-ROM drive. What I am trying to do is create a DVD of my home videos on my computer. I am using the Roxio Easy Media Creator 7 The Digital Suite. It will not capture the videos off of the DVD-R that I recorded in my DVD Cam. How do I get my DVD-R onto DVD+R's? I don't know if this matters, but, I use DVD+R's to burn DVDS with DVD Shrink, not DVD-R's. I don't believe the DVD-R'd work wo burn on my pc, and I am figuring that my problem is that my DVD Cam discs are DVD-R, and maybe should be DVD+R? I am not even sure if I can use a DVD+R in my DVD Cam though, but I have never tried, as the guy at the store told me to get the discs I have (DVD-R). Oh, the DVD-R mini disc that I recorded from the DVD Cam, plays with no trouble at all on my computer, but I cannot save it to a file on the pc, or seem to figure out how to get it to copy onto a DVD+R .....DVD+...DVD-...this is driving my nuts, why the heck can't they ALL just be a + or -!! Lmao I hope this clarifies what I am trying to do. Thanks Rotary
hi there ok, lets see if we can shed some light here.... i think its a + drive writer? but you sholud be able to rip it to hD use dvd decrypter on iso read! then if you dont want to shrink it at all, or touch it in anyway just iso write with dvd decrypyter... or are you trying to compile alot of videos into one? but rip with dvd decrypter and let me know if it does it!
I have tried to rip the home DVD-R with DVD Decrypter and it will not work, nor will it work with DVD shrink......I am at a loss
Hey Rotary, it seems that I have an error on the DVD Cam Disc that I am trying to copy, that's why it won't capture into Roxio. I tried some other DVD Discs that I recorded, and it seems that they are working just fine. I appreciate you effort to help me though. Take Care
hi if he video is of great importance to you, then just look at the folder and copy and paste the vob files of the movie to your hard drive... if you want it to work reply to the thread i will show you how to make it work, its not hard at all... if the vobs copy across it should work out? also you you shouldnt need to rip your own fims with dvd shrink or dvd decrypter there wont be any protection you can just cope and paste to your hard drive... take care....
