using dvd shrink

    i just downloaded dvd shrink. i'm new to the whole backing up dvd's. i just loaded a dvd on there. (dvd shrink) but now what do i do. it show no compression then different percentages. then what do i do from there? sorry i'm lost but if somebody can kind of explain the process of shrinking a dvd so that it doesn't change the quality to me that would be great.
