Hi, I have a MEDION MD 85365 not the best piece of equipment under the sun but its ok! it says it is possible to use this as a webcam with the necessary drivers on the CD. However, when i plugged it into my PC (I have XP service pack 2) it installed it as USB mass storage device. I do not want this as I want to use it as a webcam so I tried to override by updating the drivers with the relevant ones of the CD however it claims that the auto-install windows drivers are better and will not update to the 'TWAIN' drivers on the CD. I just want to use it as a webcam and was wondering if anybody knows how I can do this? Thanks for any help anyone can provide.
When you open up for example msn messenger and go to Tools > Audio Video Setup and skip through the audio do you see your MEDION MD 85365 listed as a video source, if so selected and see if you get video. if not contact the manufacturers tech support of something. Hope this helps you.
Thanks, just to let you know I got it sorted i didn't realise you could access the menu to change a setting on the camera when plugged in as the manual failed to mention this. Thanks for your help though!
man just buy a normal webcam. a digital camera wont work as well as it usually would when taking pictures if thats what youre thinking...normal webcams are pretty cheap anyways and lots come with built in microphone
