Can someone help me with the settings on Nero to burn a DVD backup that will hopefully play in my Samsung V1000 standalone player? I have seen ones that recommend DVD-Video or some that say DVD-ROM (UDF), so I am really confused.
Also which media type have the best compatiblity (+r,+rw,-r,-rw)? I have been trying Verbatim DVD+R and using the DVD-Video selection in Nero but I get a disc error. THe disc works fine in my computer dvd player though, so just want to make sure it is my standalone player and not my burning process. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

    Thanks,
    Greg

Try another player, maybe at Best Buy or Circuit City to see if the disc works.

5.5.10 has a bug that means it won't play on your standalone
go back to 5.5.9 and you will be fine

First, the best media to use would be one of quality. You would be surprised as to how much this will have an effect on performance. 2nd, the best media type (-R,+R, etc...) is really up for debate. The most successful in my opinion are DVD-R and DVD+RW. If you goto the DVD+R alliance page you can gain access to exactly which players will play +R and +RW.

Nero 5.9.9.14 works great for me. (you can find it on Kazaa)
