I'm new to this and have looked all over the site on how I can back up using nero express along with AnyDVD and DVD shrink and haven't had any luck. I have DVD shrink, nero express and AnyDVD working in the background. I tried burning a back-up with nero using DVDshrink (I hadn't yet downloaded AnyDVD yet) and when it was almost finished it failed (see log below). I may have been burning too fast (16x), but nero was automatically launched, so I didn't have control over that. So I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

From looking at your log you need to first remove the sn# starts with 1a20

    Then turn on dma.
    And maybe update nero.

You need to EDIT out your Nero serial number before any hackers hacked your serial and use it for free.

Nero is old, update to the latest 6.6.0.18 (one of Nero's best version so far).

Rpc forum reported that it's the latest firmware. http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=2157

One of your Hard drive (either Primary or Secondary) DMA is Off, and your NEC burner's DMA is Off. Both needs to enable back On -- to enable DMA back On, try this http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/260038 -- you need to "uninstall" it's drivers.

This is too close to the edge, try to customize to at least 4400MB with high quality media like genuine Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim "advanced azo" or "datalife plus" or Maxell (Hitachi Corp. - made in japan).

Again, try to "update" your Nero to the latest and make sure you use high quality media as mentioned above.

Your burner don't like the media you're using. Perhaps, try some DVD+R high quality media as mentioned above.

This is crazy, slow down to 4X. Yes... 4x is the most recommended speeds for burning at AfterDawn. I don't even dare to go beyond 4X or 8X even if I'm using top notch media like YUDEN, Verbatim and Maxell (made in japan by Hitachi Corp.) For more info on burning at 16X versus burning at 4X, go here http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/265933

Go here http://www.downloadjunction.com/product/store/15199 and get Roxio Zapper to completely wipe out Roxio from your system, then restart. Roxio and Nero conflicts one another, therefore you're geting "coasters".
