I'm very new to the whole DVD converting/burning scene. I am using WinAVI to encode my video clips into a .VOB file and I'm burning it with Nero Burning Rom. I like the features that Nero Vison gives you with Menu Creation but I can't stand how long it takes to encode and then Burn. My problem arises because WinAVI gives all of the files the same name for ever video that is converted into a .VOB file. How can I change this so that I can have multiple files burned to a disc through the Burning Rom app.? Is it a simple renaming of the files? Also is there a way to have menu creation through Nero Burning Rom or to just use Nero Vision for Menus without having to encode files that have already been encoded?

I think in order to get menus, you need to use NeroVision or some other DVD making software. Nero Burning ROM will burn it after the DVD is basically set up, but it will not add menus. Nero Recode might add some menus, not sure.

I don't have any experience in the WinAVI thing, but are you talking about different videos with the same name--there may be a setting to change that, but not as a bulk setting.

You could export the files in NeroVision first and them put them back into that utility for editing and DVD creation. That would save transcoding time. Be advised that some versions of NeroVision 4 have been having problems with certain types of .avi files. I think if they are encoded at 29.97 or 25 fps you may be OK.
