v4.00softwear update

    is their anyone out there in west yorkshire who could and is willing toupdate my starview box sotfwear to version 4.00.im willing to pay!!. after hours of trying, im ripping my hair out. ive got the gtrom loader,downloded the softwear but when i click download the box say's file error.

    is it starview 1 or the box u have,and what file are u trying to load

    Sounds like you have the wrong cable , I would say you have the rs232 but you need a NULL MODEM CABLE

    whats the difference between the rs232 cable and the null modem cable? they both seem to look the same.

    Good question,I think it's to do with the wires inside the cable for the different types of data transfers,one cable is for one type of data and the NULL cable is for another,I may be wrong but I'm nearly sure it's something like that.

    null modem cable has a crossover wire, where the rs232 is straight wired 1-1,2-2,3-3,4-4
