Can someone suggest a few places to shop for a USB data cable for the v551? I've read to look at eBay but have gotten burned there in the past. Would appreciate some other suggestions. Thanks!

    Subnet,

Can you pass on the name of the vendor you bought your cable from? Have you had any connectivity issues with the cable? Thanks in advance!

    Motodude,

Thanks for the headsup on the 5pin vs the 4pin cable.

Um, I read that with the right software and a OEM data cable, you could free up space on the phone (like 1.5 MB) but that seller only has non-OEM cables... Anyone know anything about this?

After failing to be able to make a cable work that I got at Radio Shack and local stores don't have a cable for the V551, I ordered one from originalwireless.com for $14.95 and I got it to work with PhoneTools.

It's called Motorola SKN6311 USB Data Cable.

I had to remove all of the modems that were created from my various attempts with the other cable and two bluetooth devices from my system before I could get it to work. Leave your real modem in, of course.
