My battery on my v551 only last 3 days tops. I did the normal drain and everything and its still terrible, no where near what it states on the website. I heard from a guy today at work that there is an update for the phone but has to be sent back to moto..The update is supposed to help with the battery usage on the phone. Does anyone know if there is truth to this? thanks Tidal.
There is a later flash 8.18 that repairs many issues with the phone but locks it to the provider . it repairs the battery issue , the camera , stops the static in the external speaker.The white screen. But it also changes the bootloader. It does make the phone show a better rerception also.The bummer is you need a flash flex program (PST) to run the flash and there is a possibility to damage the phone while installing it ( if the phone is touched or the program is halted for some reason)Check in phone status , other information and see which s/w version is in your phone. Also check to see if the power is on for the bluetooth connection in connections. Its supposed to be off unless you are connected to another bluetooth connection.

I just havent had time to play around with the cable yet. just ordered one off ebay with some extras, should be getting it tomorrow actually. Is there a way to copy your original image so if u screw up the install process... you can re-image it? does it work like that? thanks
I did mine myself ,the bummer is the site to download the flash is down. There are probably others. As far as backups go that is the very first thing you do before anything else. motokit1.06 seems to be the easiest program to use to backup your phone.I have used p2kman to save all files also.The new one out is p2k commander, a very nice program. The best think you can do before modding your phone is read , read , read all post pertaining to the function you wish to do. That how I learned myself with a little help from Mossyy.
