v7 laser unit in a v4??

    My friend's v4 ps2 laser is goin to crap and i have a working v7 laser unit. Would this work to just switch them over? I have all working parts for the v7 ps2 but the motherboard.

    Would I need to swap just the unit or the whole tray assembly?

    not 100% on this but don't think the v7 laser would work in a v4 as they are different lasers, with different connections

    Im thinkin the same thing as devilhunt but If you want to give it a try after his laser finally kicks the bucket it shouldn't hurt

    My friend put a ver. 10 laser in my ver.7 ps2, and it works fine.
