Hi, me again, my dad wants to upgrade my little brothers comp to a better video card his computers a Sony Vaio PCV-RX741 i dont think it has an AGP slot and i was wondering if you guys knew any good video cards from newegg within the 90$ below range that would be compatible with my bros comp and still play new games Thanks..
yeah figures..i was thinking about getting this card http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814145087 is it compatible with my bros computer?
yeah..i got that video card and installed it into my bros computer and hooked the monitor cable to the vid card but the screen just goes black and the monitors power color goes to idle..on the manual it said to put the monitor cable in before installing the software but i cant install waht i cant see..so i tried putting monitor cable back to orginal place n installing the driver..it installs asks me to restart but after the reboot theres no sign of the NVIDIA program..please help ive tried everything..
YEAH..ive tried reseating the card like twice even tried to put it into a diff slot..it still doesnt work..i dont understand on my computer i just installed software then hardware and it was done..but when i try installing software on my bros comp it doesnt even install completley or somthing..
on cards whether video, sound, network & modems unless stated otherwise in the destructions, always install the card 1st before software. let windows find the card & either let it load it's own driver or asks for the driver disk.
yeah..i did that..i let windows detect it installed it..went to device manager to disable the on board graphics enabled the new video card and tried plugging monitor cable into new vid card but still doesnt work..
right from sony viao support site. At the SONY screen, press the F2 key. IMPORTANT: If the SONY screen does not appear, press the F2 key within 7-10 seconds after turning on the computer
ok...i dont know what i did but i finally got it to where when i plug the monitor cable into the video card it shows up..but i cant see any of the icons on my desktop or any window i open...i tried switching monitor cable bcak to onboard and switching the resolution to the lowest then switched back to video card and it was the same...i dont know what to do...
